Assam: DTO To Function On March 26 And 27

Guwahati: In a bid to collect arrear and regular taxes, the District Transport Office (DTOs) has decided to keep the office open on March 26 and 27.

As per an order issued by the Joint Secretary to the Assam government, H Noorani, the decision has been taken in the interest of public service.

"DTOs shall remain open on 26th and 27th March 2022 to dispose of large numbers of pending cases of notified services like Driving License, Fitness Certificate, etc. and also for collection of arrear and regular taxes as applicable in time prior to the closing of the current Financial Year," the order read.

Meanwhile, the Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has also decided to function on 26 and 27 March in order to collect revenue and other associated works.

''In order to facilitate collection of revenue and completion of associated works during the current financial year 201-2022, all zones and revenue-related branches of Guwahati Municipal Corporation will remain open on coming Saturday and Sunday i.e. 26-03-2022 and 27-03-2022 and will be treated as working day.
